Bidirectional Converters
An ordinary switching power supply is capable of performing power conversion from AC to DC, DC to DC, or DC to AC. On the other hand, a bidirectional converter is a switching power supply that realizes bidirectional power conversion between AC and DC, DC and DC, or DC and AC in a single unit.
The EZA series produced by TDK-Lambda consists of bidirectional DC-DC converters capable of performing both step-down and step-up operations in a single unit. It can play the role of stepping down a grid voltage (320 VDC) obtained from renewable energy, etc., to a battery voltage (48 VDC or 240 VDC), and the role of stepping up when reversing the battery voltage to the grid voltage in a single unit, thus offering advantages to the customers such as the reduction of installation space.
